UPLOADING THE DATABASE – “CUSTOMER LIST”. POTENTIAL PROBLEMS
There are a few more things to consider. From my perspective, one of the most problematic things about Facebook advertising is uploading a database using the "Customer List" function. And I admit that I've been trying to avoid this option lately.
No convenient updates
If you don't use marketing automation systems that do this automatically (e.g. MailChimp has this function), you have to do it manually every time you upload the database.
What is it about?
Let's say you have Facebook Pixel installed and someone visits your website. Then you set up a target audience on Facebook:
middle east rcs data
people who were on your website in the last 7 days.
If a given person has visited your site in the last week, they will see these ads by default. However, if a week passes and they do not visit your site, they will be automatically removed from this target group. However, new people who have found your site in the meantime will be automatically added to this database.
This means that custom audiences, or remarketing groups, update automatically.
Unfortunately, in the case of manually uploaded mailing databases, this function is not available. This in turn means that every time you want to update your group of active and inactive recipients, you have to re-generate the database in your marketing system and go through the whole process from the beginning.
