The Spanish Hotel Congress has been a key event to learn first-hand about the state of the sector, affected by the pandemic but full of proposals for the future. An event to explore new trends in tourism in Spain and in which I have had the honour of participating in a round table discussion on tourism marketing strategies.
Last Wednesday, November 17, the 18th edition of the Spanish Hoteliers Congress began in Oviedo , organized by the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodations (CEHAT) in collaboration with nigeria phone number data Hospitality and Tourism in Asturias (OTEA). An event under the motto “ The Reunion ” that has served to take the pulse of the sector, learn about the latest trends in tourism and the evolution of tourism digital marketing after a difficult year.

Over the course of 3 days, more than 400 attendees and 40 expert speakers in the sector have come together in a broad programme of presentations that have touched on the hottest topics in the tourism and hotel sector: the union of tourism and technology , the tourism and social situation for 2022, opportunities for direct sales after the pandemic, new emerging markets and their competitors, sustainability or the role of investment funds.

I had the pleasure of being the moderator of a panel discussion on the closing day. Under the title: “ From global marketing on large platforms to guerrilla marketing ”, and together with Víctor Mayans (marketing director of ARTIEM), David López (Chief Innovation, Commercial & Marketing Officer of Ilunion Hotels), José Serrano (CEO of IZO Spain) and Chris Pomeroy, CEO of ITG, we addressed the new marketing challenges for the hotel sector.
