The data visualization is titled

The results are telling: According to our Q4 2023 Sprout Pulse survey, respondents believe the average age of a social media manager is: White (65%), Female (73%), 25-40 (55%) and part-time employees or freelancers (40%).

How Consumers Describe the Average Social Media Professional. Data shown shows that 65% of consumers surveyed believe social professionals are white, 73% believe they are female, 55% believe they are 24-40 years old, and 40% believe they are part-time employees or Freelance. Data are displayed on multicolor bar graphs.
Frankly, we want consumer perceptions to be far removed france b2b leads from reality. We were eager to write an article that proved consumer stereotypes wrong.

But after conducting follow-up surveys of our own audiences and comparing our findings to third-party data, we realized that consumers’ perceptions of social marketers were mostly accurate. The only difference is experience level (most people who work in social work are not entry-level or freelance). That means the industry is largely made up of white, millennial women. Even most of our own team falls into this demographic.

This brings us new problems. Why are social media careers dominated by white women? What does it say about the way brands can adopt BIPOC culture? Why are women-dominated fields thought to require less experience and expertise? How can we give different generations a place in the industry?
