his was discussed at the international forum on professional networks and communication systemsProfComm 2023, organized by the ComNews Information Group, was reported by Andrey Manoylo, Deputy General Director for Operations of JSC Satellite System Gonets.
He said that the existing Gonets group includes 18 spacecraft, the last three of which entered orbit in 2022. This system will no longer be updated. And now the Gonets satellite kenya whatsapp number database system is working on launching a new group with better characteristics. The first batch is scheduled to enter orbit in 2027. The system will be fully deployed by 2030.

and the first satellite of the federal Sfera project, Skif-D, were delivered to their designated orbits.
"To perform all the functions included in the customer's technical specifications, we need 28 spacecraft placed in four planes. Each of them has seven spacecraft and one backup. As a result, there will be eight spacecraft with the same orbital inclination that exists in the current group - 82.5 degrees. We create all spacecraft exclusively on a domestic element base," added Andrey Manoylo.
A representative of the press service of JSC "Gonets Satellite System" told a ComNews correspondent that funding for the production and launch of spacecraft has not yet been determined: "Within the framework of the federal space program (FSP) for 2016-2025, the state has allocated funding for work on creating a preliminary design for the promising Gonets 2.0 system. Its full name is a multifunctional system of personal satellite communications and data transmission. The preliminary design has been successfully created. Also within the framework of the said FSP, the creation of working design documentation for the Gonets 2.0 system has been allocated. We are currently carrying out this stage. Funding for the production of spacecraft and their launches will be determined in the next FSP for 2026-2035."
Andrey Manoylo noted that seven regional communication stations need to be put into operation to complete the ground infrastructure tasks. Cities have already been identified for three of them - Vladimir, Zheleznogorsk (Krasnoyarsk Krai) and Khabarovsk. Two cities will be selected later for flight tests.
Andrey Lipatov, Head of the Department of Scientific and Technical Center of Satellite Telecommunication Systems of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Research Institute of Radio", assumed how many subscribers the system would serve: "This is a regional system after all. With the declared grouping and number of devices, continuous coverage exists only up to the 40th degree. In the equatorial zone, there will be holes in the coverage. And for telephony, real-time traffic, this is unacceptable. The system is intended for the Russian Federation and, possibly, the CIS countries for one simple reason: the s-band for mobile communications is coordinated only for the territory of the Russian Federation. Of course, someone else may allow us to work over their territory, for example, South Africa or Brazil, but there will be holes there. The throughput of each satellite is determined by its energy system and the area of solar batteries. We can provide only 160 channels per device. With this grouping, the territory of Russia is covered by three devices on average. That is, we get 480 channels. Thus, we will get only tens of thousands of subscribers. In terms of the range of services, this will not be the civil sector. What the ratio will be in the business of a telephone service operator or some other services, no one will be able to predict in advance either."
The development of trunking communications on the TETRA protocol for the Gonets group was to be carried out by the company - developer and manufacturer of communications equipment "Informtekhnika". However, the company's specialists did not undertake this project, which was indirectly confirmed by a representative of the press service of JSC "Gonets Satellite System": "As for the creation of a trunking communications service, at the moment the work is being carried out by a cooperation of enterprises with experience in working with TETRA standard protocols."
Representatives of the company "Informtekhnika" did not answer questions from a ComNews correspondent about the reasons for abandoning the project.
"In terms of the purpose of the prospective system, in addition to trunking communications, the low-orbit system being created will provide mobile telephone communications using handset-type terminals, mobile satellite IoT services. Also, due to the special payload, Gonets 2.0 will additionally represent a satellite segment of the automatic identification system (AIS)," added a representative of the press service of JSC Satellite System Gonets.
