change.
"My position, as a person with teaching and management experience in the education system and now working in an IT company, is that the role of a teacher will remain important for a long time. Let's start with the fact that talented IT specialists are needed to develop AI technology. The widest range of czech republic whatsapp number database competencies. And in order for this child to develop an interest in computer science or another area related to digitalization a long time ago at school, a teacher is needed who can captivate him, interest him, motivate him. It is not necessary that this particular teacher will give him all this knowledge. After all, they can be obtained with the help of generative neural networks, just the Internet - there are many sources. But in order to navigate this diversity, you need to start forming an information culture at preschool age. So the importance of a mentor teacher remains high," says a representative of Yandex.
Dmitry Rastvorov admits that in some cases a teacher may lose relevance because a student has a smartphone and access to information. School is not the only source of knowledge.
"An important mission of a teacher is to teach how to use this information. The role of a teacher in the information society is changing - instead of a source of knowledge, he becomes a navigator in the digital environment. But I believe, and this is not only my position, but also the position of many team members, that there is no need to even strive to replace a teacher with AI technologies. Technologies can help diversify the educational process, eliminate the moment of "excessive" charisma of a teacher, which will distract from the subject of study, and also free up time. But what is this time needed for in the educational process? For lively, emotional communication with the teacher," Dmitry Rastvorov is convinced.
As Yandex press service representative Daniel Vasilevich told ComNews, a teacher in modern realities teaches not only living students, but also artificial intelligence itself.
"Many neural networks specializing in education are appearing - for example, the textbook has a "jepetitor" that prepares for the Unified State Exam in programming and computer science. But in order to create and train this neural network, we attracted teachers from all over Russia to help us. Their understanding of the needs of the students they taught is in demand here. This is how the role of the teacher is changing in the information age," concluded Daniel Vasilevich.
A big problem with digitalization, according to Dmitry Rastvorov, is that there are a lot of technologies, but neither students nor teachers are ready for them.
"Despite the fact that students were born in the era of the Internet, they often do not know how to use modern technologies to benefit their learning. And there is not always someone to teach them, because teachers who were trained according to classical standards may not have the necessary digital skills. They were taught to teach mathematics, and not to use artificial intelligence tools in the educational process. This is a problem that the state faces. And it is aware of it. Large technology companies can solve this problem. In particular, our project "Yandex Textbook" is designed to combine classical traditional teaching methods with new technologies," says Dmitry Rastvorov.
Marina Girya, Deputy Director of the Department for Work with Government Authorities of the online educational platform Netology, told a ComNews correspondent about the specifics of using AI in an educational institution.
"Netology" implements programs in analytics and programming related to AI. We work for several audiences: for students interested in artificial intelligence, and employers who want to teach employees how to work with AI or hire new graduates of Netology, as well as find guys who have a serious level in Data Science programs. In developing products, we strive to cover the needs of both students and employers. As a company, we use AI in different departments at various levels - from compiling certificates to statistics of student performance, as well as in marketing, to attract users, in customer service to process complaints and requests in order to distribute them to different levels of support," says Marina Girya.
So far, in her opinion, it cannot be said that AI has been applied everywhere in the educational process. Over the years, Netology has developed a methodology that cannot be quickly replaced. But the new technology is taking its toll.
"We are already generating images and texts with the help of AI. We are using ChatGPT to develop content. In the future, we may use avatar teachers. Our students took the first step towards this by showing up for "online classes" as virtual characters. The new generation looks at such things very simply," says Marina Girya.
She noted the importance of the state initiative on IT and artificial intelligence. In her opinion, this will lead to a massive increase in digital literacy.
"Some entrepreneurs do not understand why they need AI. We are trying to understand how it can help in business using real cases. For example, it can be used to process product cards on marketplaces or use AI for business analysis. Artificial intelligence will accelerate the development of industry, medicine, and retail. And I want to believe that this development will be constructive," Marina Girya hopes.
