chnologies, there will not be a quantum computer as such in the world for another decade, but individual quantum computing platforms are produced on bulky installations that in their scale resemble classical computers from the 1950s and 60s of the last century.
largest programmable multi-arm venezuela whatsapp resource interferometers (chips) for quantum computing using femtosecond laser printing technology. It was tested at the Quantum Technologies Center (QTC) of the Physics Department of Moscow State University named after M. V. Lomonosov, Sergei Kulik, head of the Quantum Light Engineering Laboratory at South Ural State University (SUSU) and scientific director of the QTC, told TASS.
"A large-scale eight-channel programmable interferometer (simplified - chip - TASS note) has been created at the MSU Center of Computer Science, which has no analogues in the world in terms of its characteristics. The results of the work were recently published in the international journal Photonics Research. A laboratory for quantum engineering of light is operating at SUSU within the framework of a mega-grant. There, similar chips will be used by scientists to perform quantum calculations," the agency's source said.
According to Kulik, the world will not have a quantum computer as such for another decade. Meanwhile, individual quantum computing platforms are produced on bulky installations that are similar in scale to classical computers from the 1950s and 60s of the last century. These calculations are needed to solve scientific and industrial problems.
Kulik added that in quantum computing, the role of electrical signals is played by quanta, i.e. light (the chip functions by processing light). In this case, non-programmable chips can be used, but then they will have to be changed for each new step of the algorithm. The MSU Center of Computer Technologies has developed and manufactured a programmable optical chip - the waveguide paths can be "re-burned" on the fly, doing this in relatively short intervals, i.e. hundredths of a second.
South Ural State University is a university of transformations, where research is conducted in most priority areas of science and technology development. The university is focused on developing projects in the field of digital industry, materials science and ecology. In 2021, SUSU won the competition under the Priority 2030 program. The university functions as a regional project office of the Ural Interregional Scientific and Educational Center, which was created to unite the potentials of educational and scientific organizations of the real sector of the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk and Kurgan regions under the national project "Science and Universities".
