Facebook has long been exploring areas that go far beyond its social network. Neuroscience is one of them and now it seems that it is looking to apply it to one of its biggest bets: augmented reality glasses.
first advances on the research it is developing in this field, which it entered in 2017. The main objective of its work is to create a system capable of decoding silent language without the need to implant electrodes in the brain.

Although this goal seems far from being achieved, researchers from the University of California who work closely with Facebook point to unprecedented progress in an article published in the prestigious scientific journal Nature.

These include the creation of an algorithm capable of decoding a small set of austria phone number spoken words and phrases from real-time brain activity.

But to find non-invasive techniques, experts are already studying alternative avenues such as detecting brain activity by monitoring oxygen levels in the brain through wearable devices such as virtual and augmented reality glasses.

However, it will still be a long time before Facebook's glasses can read users' minds, as the company says the technology is still "slow and unreliable."
