Netflix is launching a new “ Profile Transfer ” feature worldwide this week that will allow users to transfer all of their profile data (watch history, created playlists, personalized recommendations) to a new account. This means that the user will be able to keep their information even if they are no longer the original owner of the account.

How to get this new feature?
This feature is now available , both the function and the steps that users must follow to carry out the transfer, in all the countries in which it operates, according to a statement from the company itself.

The company will notify subscribers by email , so stay tuned. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder.

Once inside the platform, you only have to go to “ Account ” and to the “ transfer profile ” section . There you must enter the email and password of the new account.

“People move. Families grow. Relationships end. But iceland number data throughout these life changes, your Netflix experience should remain the same,” Netflix product manager Timi Kosztin wrote on his blog .

The change comes as the company battles account sharing. Netflix blames subscribers who share their account passwords with friends and family for some of its problems and faces stiff competition from HBO Max and Disney+.

The streaming company estimates that nearly 100 million households have shared accounts and plans to address this in 2023, it said.

Measures against this situation
In Peru and Chile, a new measure has been activated: if the platform detects that you access your account from different connections, it will charge extra. Due to the loss of subscribers, Netflix does not want there to be any more shared accounts.

Netflix unveils its definitive ad-supported plan : it will cost less than 6 euros and will be available in November. This plan will be called "Basic with ads" and will be the platform's most affordable: in Spain it will cost 5.49 euros per month (6.99 dollars).

Netflix is growing again
For the first time in eleven years, Netflix has seen a decline in its number of subscribers.

Between January and March 2022, Netflix lost around 200,000 paying subscribers . After two consecutive quarters of customer losses, it is back on the rise in the third quarter thanks to hits like Stranger Things 4 and Dahmer. Between July and September, it grew by 4.5%.
