Complex problem - simple solution
Even a small business today deals with a huge array of data. A proven end-to-end analytics service and its integration with the Power BI platform significantly simplifies this work.

Some CoMagic clients have already downloaded the Telegram door connector and enabled the integration for their business, while others are planning to do so in the near future. The benefits and advantages of such a solution are crystal clear.

Natalia, NIKA MOTORS Holding LLC

We have been working with CoMagic for a long time and plan to connect Power BI in the near future! We have already received approval from the management and trained our IT specialists. Power BI is a deeper analysis and simplification of data, and their visualization. Therefore, the platform has become an ideal solution for us, or rather, will be in the near future!

We explain in simple and understandable language: what this platform is, how it works, who it can be useful to and how.

What is it, why, for whom?
How often do you look at the dashboard of your car? Probably as often as you drive it. Let's imagine that your business is the same car. In this case, Power BI dashboards are nothing more than its information panel.

Microsoft Power BI (Business Intelligence) is a set of business analytics tools for analyzing important data and presenting it visually.

By connecting to various sources of information, the platform collects data, processes it and creates excellent reports.

Reports can be made available to users across the organization. You can work with them both in the browser and on mobile devices.

Business owners, marketers, analysts, developers, sociologists – everyone or almost everyone works with data today.

The main function of Power BI is the prompt analysis of any data and management of all processes of your business, wherever you are.

BI platforms have both ready-made report templates and wide functionality for creating your own. You can connect additional tools, applications, perform complex mathematical calculations, visualize any data in simple and understandable infographics.

Tools
The Power BI system includes three main platforms.

Power BI Desktop is a desktop version for creating visual and interactive reports with wide functionality.
Power BI Service is a service that automatically refreshes data and allows you to securely publish reports to everyone.
Power BI Mobile is an application for any device with real-time data updates.
The three components of the system allow you to work with data wherever and however you want. Power BI service will allow you to upload all the necessary information to the server, and with the help of the desktop version you can easily analyze the necessary information and arrange it in a beautiful dashboard. Which, in turn, your boss will be able to immediately view on his smartphone, wherever he is.

Don't waste your advertising budget
The call tracking and end-to-end analytics service will show the effectiveness of each source in terms of “from click to sale”.

How to get started with Power BI?
The Power BI platform is intuitively easy to use – and this is its advantage. To start working with it, you do not need to take any special courses or know programming languages. If you are not new to the computer and have heard something about Excel – you will undoubtedly master the basic functionality of Power BI.

So, the first thing you need to do is decide on your goals: why do you need this tool? If you want to work with the platform yourself, the basic Author package (includes only Power BI Desktop) will be enough for you. It is provided free of charge.

If you want to not only visualize existing data, but also share your cool reports with other users, then you can’t do without the Collaboration package.

Note that you can also share your infographics using the free basic package, but the data will be publicly available on the Internet. If you don’t want your customers or competitors to know all the details of your business, don’t skimp on the Power BI Pro package.
So, you have downloaded the package, we can start working. To do this, upload your first data by clicking on the Get data button .

As you can see in the screenshot, this can be done in different ways. You can either upload ready-made data (Excel, SQL Server, CSV file, etc.) or set up integration with other services using a connector.

Once you've loaded the information you need into Power BI, various visualizations become available in the right pane.

You can use pie charts, line charts, various maps, graphs, histograms, etc. to visualize your data. To create an infographic, simply select a visualization and then check the desired data.

Alexey Makarov, Product Analyst at CoMagic

I work with a large amount of data that I process in Python. Building interactive visualizations with Python that I can share with colleagues can take a lot of time. So I needed a data visualization tool that wouldn’t take up a lot of my time. For me, Power BI is not a tool for receiving or processing data, but a convenient tool for quick data visualization. I load all the data into Power BI, quickly create the necessary infographics and send them to my colleagues in a simple, easy-to-understand form. The advantages of the platform for me are its wide functionality combined with ease of use.

Of course, there is a more advanced level of using Power BI. By connecting to a database, you can load large volumes of information for in-depth analysis, building relationships, creating metrics and formulas.

There is a special programming language DAX for writing formulas within the BI system, and the M language for creating the necessary connectors. The Microsoft documentation describes in detail all the features of these programming languages and provides instructions on how to work with them.

Power BI does not generate data on its own, but pulls it from various sources. The platform is able to combine all your company's data: from both local and cloud sources of information.

Power BI already has quite a few connectors: with Yandex.Direct, Yandex.Metrica, Google Analytics, etc. Of course, we have developed a connector with our service as well.

Once you set up the Power BI integration with CoMagic , you immediately get a powerful analytics tool for your business.

Everything you did before: traffic analysis, requests, call quality. Calculating advertising efficiency by channels, advertising campaigns or individual ads. Cost control by regions, sites or business areas. Now you can visualize all this. And then publish and share information on different devices.

Artem Yudakov, Product Owner CoMagic

CoMagic collects a lot of unique indicators, can transfer them via API, and Power BI is ideal for visualization. The integration of two services allows you to study communications and user sessions and look at the result from different angles. It was important for me to use all the capabilities of the current Data API 2.0. Based on it, you can use templates and create your own queries. For many CoMagic clients, integrations remain a difficult task, and we are ready to help with the setup.

Complex problem - simple solution
In an age of ever-increasing amounts of information, it’s no wonder that the idea of “simplifying” seems so tempting. Technology gives us such solutions. Understanding a huge amount of data and always keeping your finger on the pulse is possible if you have the right tools.

Power BI from Microsoft is not the only data analysis and visualization solution on the market, but it is definitely one of the most convenient and therefore popular.

Create tables with the necessary data and visualize them. Choose suitable forms and graphs, play with color, show your imagination - yes, this process can be labor-intensive, but also extremely exciting. Try on new roles! Feel like not just an analyst, marketer or IT specialist, but also a bit of a creative person, designer and strategist.

Enjoy your analytics, friends!
