Credit Card Transactions If we don't want to use an IPSP

Post by sujonkumar6300 »

We can implement custom functionality to support credit card transactions on our site. We'll start by looking at the theory behind credit card transactions, the types of organizations that will allow us to process them, and the types of transactions that are possible.

Banks and other financial institutions use secure networks for their transactions, based on the X.25 protocol instead of using TCP/IP. X.25 is not something we need to know very well, other than the fact that it is a network protocol and is not compatible with TCP/IP. For this reason, X.25-based networks are completely separate from the Internet, although it is possible to Ukraine Mobile Database access them directly, but it is not recommended. To do so, we would need to enter into a very serious negotiation with the owner of the network we would like to use. The owner will want to be 100% sure that we are a trustworthy customer and that we are able to implement all kinds of security measures to prevent an attack on the system. The owner of the network cannot give away licenses wholesale, because most people would not be able to provide the required security measures.

Given the complexity of accessing an X.25 network directly, it is advisable to use an intermediary known as a “Gateway Provider.” This will allow us to implement our part of the protocol for the transaction on the Internet, while at the same time relying on the Gateway we have chosen to communicate with the X.25 network. Although this implies a cost, at least our provider has negotiated some agreement with the financial institution to keep costs low, so this option is much cheaper than implementing our own connection to the X.25 network.
