Methods such as the People CMM promote

maturity in people management processes, such as career development and skills development.

However, all of these approaches still view people from the mostly professional perspective… what about personal characteristics? If we do not consider them, we are ignoring a key component and the results will not be entirely optimal. A highly trained and experienced engineer is of little use if he is irresponsible, if he does not act consciously in critical situations or if he is dominated by negative emotions.

I invite you to go beyond career plans and the importance of the technical Portugal Mobile Database competence of programmers, and I invite you to improve professionals as “people”. We have long been concerned about Seniority in terms of technical, leadership and organizational competences, but little about “Personal Seniority”. In my experience, technical excellence combined with considerable “Personal Seniority” (combining responsibility, awareness of one’s actions and a healthy emotionality) makes the difference between an excellent professional and an exceptional one.
