The price war in the mobile telephony sector in Switzerland has taken a new turn with an announcement from TalkTalk. The operator in charge of Mobilezone is launching a particularly aggressive anniversary offer for its 25th anniversary: an all-inclusive mobile subscription, including roaming, for 25 francs per month, for life!
This "All In" package includes unlimited data and calls not only in Switzerland, but also in and to the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Turkey (Zone 0*). Such an offer obviously calls into question the recent price increases of other operators, sometimes abusively justified by inflation.
A revamped and simplified portfolio
TalkTalk is not stopping there and is taking the opportunity to review all of its plans . The operator now claims to offer a simplified structure with three main subscriptions: Basic, Swiss and International, to which is added a "Flex" option, with no minimum contract duration, for the last two plans.
As part of this reshuffle, TalkTalk is also launching promotions on its other packages. The Swiss subscription is now 19.95 francs instead of 39.95 francs, while the International S is being sold at 22.95 francs instead of 59.95 francs per month. You might as well switch to today's offer, which is much more advantageous...
Advantageous combined offers
TalkTalk, which operates on the Sunrise mobile network (UPC), is also banking on TV and internet overseas chinese in usa dataoffers to try to attract consumers. The operator is offering packages combining internet and TV starting at 79.95 francs per month (Pause, 7 days of catch-up and 1000 hours of recording), according to this press release . Not cheap.
For customers opting for these combined offers, the Swiss mobile subscription can even be obtained for only 10 francs per month instead of 39.95 francs. A strategy that clearly aims to build customer loyalty across all the services offered by the Mobilezone brand. Where such rates make sense, of course.
Increased competition on the Swiss market
TalkTalk's price offensive comes in a context of sometimes somewhat weak competition on the Swiss telecoms market, mired in price increases supposedly justified by inflation. This offensive could well force other operators to review their prices downwards.
It will be interesting to see how competitors react to this particularly attractive offer, particularly with regard to roaming services to and from these countries (to be highlighted). Even if TalkTalk's weight is quite relative, the price battle in the Swiss telecoms sector seems far from over.
