Booking the flights turned out to be more complex than expected, as three different flights had to be coordinated with each other in order to get to the destination inland. But we had no idea that this would turn out to be the smallest problem in retrospect: The next corona wave was coming our way and a week before departure another corona mutation was discovered in South Africa. All countries around South Africa were thus classified as virus variant areas - Tanzania was not affected. This news initially caused great uncertainty, but we still decided to go on the trip. We booked three flights and expected a travel time of 15 hours and 30 minutes, but no one could have guessed at the time that this plan would not work. To be continued...

Our Mission
There near Mbeya in Uyole is a partner organization of the association, which has established a center for innovation, entrepreneurship and financial autonomy. The mission is to get to know the people in charge of the organization, the local people and to visit this center. Afterwards, a project team is to be set up here in Germany, which, with the help of our expertise, will support the center in marketing products in Germany, which are hand made there in Tanzania. The special thing about this project is that not only jobs are created locally, but also all revenue are reinvested and thus benefit the people in the Mbeya region. This income makes the partner organization independent of donations - which in turn means that urgent projects can be tackled more quickly as they are self-financed.
