Swift 3 Straightens the Path at the Expense of Backwards Compatibility

Post by sujonkumar6300 »

Spark currently has a broader and more mature ecosystem than Flink, which only made version 1.0 available in March of this year. So at this point it would still be risky to put something into production with Flink, but it is certainly worth keeping it on the radar and seeing how it evolves.

Apple released version 3 of the Swift programming language. This is the first major ukraine consumer email list version of Swift after it was made available as free software. But what is most striking is that it is not backwards compatible with previous versions. Apparently, the Apple company was not satisfied with how several details had been implemented, including the translation of code from Objective-C to Swift. The good news is that XCode 8 has a tool to migrate code from Swift 2.2 and 2.3 to Swift 3.

Ceylon now supports Android, npm and WildFly
Ceylon is an open source programming language for the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) that we have already talked about on SG's pages and events. The news is that Ceylon has just released its version 1.3, which looks pretty good. Among its main features are:
• Programming of native Android applications.
• Ability to import and publish modules in npm.
• Development of microservices with WildFly Swarm.
• IDE plugin for IntelliJ IDEA and Android Studio.
