Reasons for pessimism

Post by tanjimajuha20 »

These results were shown by a survey conducted by the association of independent research agencies Gallup International in 44 countries of the world, including Russia. In Russia, the research was conducted by the research holding "ROMIR". More than 1.5 thousand respondents took part in the Russian survey.

As the study showed, Russians are skeptical about the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Only 19% of survey participants believe that AI brings more opportunities than belarus whatsapp resource problems, compared to 31% on average worldwide. 34% of Russians surveyed are convinced of the opposite, which is slightly less than the global average (38%). At the same time, in Russia, almost half (47%) of respondents admitted to insufficient awareness (30%) or found it difficult to answer (17%), which is significantly more than the global average (24% are insufficiently aware and 7% found it difficult to answer).

Marketing Director of SL Soft LLC Olesya Lachugina believes that mistrust of any technology is a natural process: “The adaptation of any new technology to life occurs in several stages. First, there is excessive optimism, when inflated expectations are built regarding a particular innovation both in professional circles and in society. This is inevitably followed by a period of disappointment, and only after it, usually in three to five years, can the technology find (but this does not always happen) application in industry or in everyday life. Therefore, the pessimism of Russians regarding the results of AI implementation is quite justified. A couple of years ago, AI was at the peak of popularity. Time passed, and there were not so many practical results for the population - hence a certain disappointment. But as experience in using AI accumulates, the level of pessimism will decrease. Russian business has already recognized the benefits that the use of AI brings for it. According to the results of a study published by Kept in early 2024, almost 40% of Russian companies have already use AI solutions."

Kirill Semion, CEO of the National Competence Center for Information Systems of Holding Management (NCC ISU), asks the question: "Does this pessimism exist? On the scale of our country, if we talk about the population and not touch upon production and fintech, the volume of AI implementation is still very small. The vast majority of citizens encounter AI only when they hear its responses during a dialogue with a bank, for example, and also when they receive contextual advertising. Here, in my opinion, it is largely a matter of mentality. We can still easily distinguish between a script and a living person. And in our mentality, live communication is much more highly valued."
