What is the new European Copyright Directive?
From now on, platforms will be responsible for ensuring that copyright is respected list of aruba consumer email on the Internet and will have to take responsibility for the content they publish. This means that they will have to apply a series of previous filters to ensure that they do not use material already produced by others.
Until now, platforms had to check for an infringement in case of complaints. If an infringement actually occurred, they were required to completely remove the content. With the new regulation, platforms like YouTube or Facebook will be responsible for publishing protected content. The regulation states that they must apply "effective content recognition techniques", capable of automatically filtering out everything that should not be in the public domain.
When will it come into effect?
Member States will have two years to incorporate the directive into their national legislation. Currently, in Italy the measure has not yet been definitively approved by the Government.
