Hey, Moz fans, welcome to the second edition of Whiteboard Friday. Today we're going to go over all things discovery opportunities for featured snippets. So this is the first of three videos. So this will be discovery, but we'll also have a goal and measurement video. So really, really exciting. This is going to be a ton of fun. I'm doing this with you, so you're not alone. This is going to be a good thing that we all do together.
So for those of you who don't know what a featured argentina number data is, it's one of those answer boxes that's at the top of the search results. So let's say you do a search like, oh, I don't know, "Are teacup pigs healthy?" Which they're not, sadly. I love pigs. But you'll get a featured snippet box like this that tells you, "No, they're actually hungry." It gives you all this information. So it's different from the "People also ask..." boxes or your normal search results.
Discover opportunities for featured pieces.
They're particularly attractive because of the voice search component. So most voice searches come from those featured snippet boxes and with that, it's just really attractive to get that high ranking in general.
#1 Keyword research
So the process is pretty straightforward. You're just going to start with your basic keyword research. So you're also going to focus on questions. AJ Ghergich wrote this incredible study on featured snippets, on SEMrush, where he discovered that about 41% of all featured snippets come from questions, which makes sense. Questions are really interesting because those results are most likely to be in lists.
