The first code editor created by Microsoft that works on Mac and Linux (in addition to Windows, obviously). It includes many of the capabilities of Visual Studio such as IntelliSense, code navigation and debugging, but it is designed to be operated primarily via the keyboard (since on these platforms we are more accustomed to typing commands than clicking on icons or menu options). VS Code is free and is already available for download.

Visual Studio 2015 (the “traditional” version) is also now available as a Release Candidate. Among its new capabilities we can find improvements to the Android emulator, tools for Docker, and support for Apache Cordova.
