The Ryzen 7 9700X has eight cores and 16 threads with a base clock of 3.8 GHz and a boost clock of up to 5.5 GHz 100 MHz more than the previous Ryzen 7 7700X, while maintaining a surprisingly low TDP of 65 watts. This is a significant reduction from its predecessor’s TDP 105 watts, and is especially noticeable in a market where power consumption is on the rise. The Ryzen 7 9700X’s lower TDP also means that a good air cooler should be enough to keep its temperatures in check.

In terms of memory support, the Ryzen 7 9700X supports up iceland telegram data to 192GB of DDR5 RAM at 5600MTs and supports AMD EXPO for easy overclocking. It also has 640KB of L1 cache, 8MB of L2 cache, and 32MB of L3 cache.

Memory details are displayed in the Task Manager.

The processor uses the same AM5 socket as the Ryzen 7000 series, making it compatible with a range of motherboards featuring the A620, X670E, X670, B650E, B650, X870E, and X870 chipsets. The processor supports PCI Express 5.0 with 28 PCIe lanes, 24 of which are usable, allowing for high-speed data transfer and expansion options. Additionally, you’ll also get other PCIe lanes depending on the chipset your motherboard uses.
