In the last few weeks, Microsoft has released several tools and services for developers. Among those that have generated the most attention are Visual Studio Code (code editor for Linux, Mac and Win), Visual Studio Team Services (collaborative development in the cloud) and even the open source project Dockercraft (Docker container management from Minecraft). Other projects or releases that have not generated as much attention, but that we find relevant are:In 1995, 60 million computers were shipped worldwide. The Internet had been developing in parallel since the late 1960s and its impact was already clear. In 1999, salesforce.com was established as an alternative taiwan consumer email list to Internet-based client-server computing or “Software-as-a-service.” In late 2004, the term “Web 2.0” was used to emphasize user-created content and improvements to network usability and interoperability. Since then, there has been speculation about an Internet that would be primarily processed by machines.
A decade ago . It was on August 25, 2006 that Amazon announced the first beta of elastic computing on the Internet. For the first time it was possible to abstractly obtain computing resources equivalent to a 2006 Intel Xeon 1.7GHz processor, and thus cloud computing was born. A decade ago Hadoop was also born, for processing ever-increasing volumes of data. In my opinion, the book “The Big Switch” by Nicholas G. Carr [1], clearly explains the current cloud computing revolution.
