The ThinkPad X1 Extreme 2nd Gen series of devices belong to the category of protected business laptops of especially high performance. According to Lenovo, this series of laptops is tested for endurance in 20 procedures and 12 tests of the US Department of Defense MIL-STD 810G standards. It is also monitored for durability during an additional 200 procedures in Lenovo laboratories. Of course, this is not IP65 protection, like in the Panasonic Toughbook, but still, if you spill a little liquid on the keyboard, nothing will happen. Although the holes for ports and ventilation grilles in it, of course, are afraid of water.
Design
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme 2nd Gen (20QV0010RT) case is made of aluminum alloy and carbon (carbon fiber). The weight of the laptop is 1.7 kg, and the thickness is less than 19 mm (18.4 mm). The case material mexico number data is durable, matte and pleasant to the touch. The only thing is that handprints immediately remain on this surface, which are quite difficult to remove. However, this is a nuisance only when you need to take a picture of the laptop for an article, in all other cases it does not matter.
carbon body is unfortunately very dirty. Handprints are not so easy to remove

The keyboard is comfortable, island-style (chiclet-style), has a backlight function and looks quite reliable. The keys are arranged in 6 rows, the stroke is about 1.5 mm, which is very convenient. The keyboard backlight can be adjusted using the Fn+Space key combination: off, weak, bright. What I didn’t like about the keyboard was the location of the Fn key – you have to get used to it. For some reason, Fn was placed where the Ctrl button is located on the vast majority of laptops from other manufacturers. And even more so – in Lenovo Legion and ThinkBook laptops, the Fn button is also located to the right of Fn, and not vice versa. If you remember that the Ctrl button is involved in such popular combinations when working with office software as Ctrl+A, Ctrl+S, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V and others, it becomes clear that confusion with the location of this key still becomes a rather unpleasant inconvenience (of course, if you use the keyboard blindly).
