If you want to use this feature effectively, do not set up different types of targeting groups – custom, similar, and interest-based – in one campaign.
Why? Very often remarketing ads have the highest CTRs, and then FB will consider a given set to be the best and pump most of the money into it.
If your goal was to test groups, this will give you a false picture of the situation.
