Aruba Enterprise presented the results of its survey investigating the level of corporate digitalization during the COVID-19 emergency. The research also identified the technologies that best supported companies throughout the emergency.
In collaboration with CIONET Italia, Aruba Enterprise conducted a survey involving Italian IT and innovation decision makers at large national and international companies. The survey shop was designed to establish a dialogue with CIOs and Infrastructure Managers at this critical time and gain direct insight into their priorities and how they responded to the pandemic crisis.
Smart Working
One of the main needs facing Italian businesses was remote working . Were companies ready for this change? According to the Aruba Enterprise survey, just under half of respondents stated that their company already had the tools necessary to conduct business remotely; a figure that has skyrocketed following the Covid-19 emergency.
As you can imagine, however, the activation of remote working required some necessary implementations . These included purchasing hardware, creating appropriate procedures and policies, user guides, and purchasing VPN systems. Investments also included videoconferencing and remote signature platforms.
Cloud
Specifically, among the technologies most strongly impacted by Covid-19, cloud computing is undoubtedly the one that best enabled companies to address the crisis, but the Aruba Enterprise survey shows that companies had already begun to prepare for it. Before March, some of the respondents already had a cloud infrastructure in place at their company ; for more than half, cloud technology was at least partially part of their daily operations, while for only a small percentage, it was almost entirely absent.
